You are here: Operations Police Operations Warrant Enforcement Bureau Juvenile Apprehension Unit (JAU)

Juvenile Apprehension Unit (JAU)

The primary function of this unit is to identify, locate and return to custody high-risk juvenile offenders who have absconded from the Care Management System (CMS) provider, violated the Intensive Probation Unit program (IPU) or failed to appear in court as scheduled.  The JAU receives referrals for apprehension services directly from the CMS provider or the 3rd Circuit Court Family Division Juvenile Section.  These referrals come in the form of immediate apprehension requests for tether violators from the CMS providers or order-to-take-custody writs from the court. Once the cases are received by the JAU, investigation and enforcement activities are initiated immediately.
