Stephen Yatooma | Director of Technology

In 2009 Stephen Yatooma was appointed by Sheriff Benny Napoleon to become Director of Technology for The Wayne County Sheriffs Office.  Since becoming Director of Technology, Yatooma has succeeded in carrying out Sheriff Napoleon’s vision of improving and implementing new Technology within the Sheriffs office while creating efficiencies on the roads and in the jails.

Yatooma was elected president of C.A.R.E. (Chaldean Americans Reaching and Encouraging) in 2003.  CARE promoted cultural awareness of the Chaldean Community throughout Southeast Michigan.  He also served on the Board of Directors for the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce for 4 years.

In 1999 he became Vice President of Development for an IT firm at age 22.  It was then where he learned how to manage and organize large scale IT projects.  Over the next few years he continued his IT work and succeeded in being a specialist at bringing resources together to finish large projects within a limited budget.

Yatooma grew up in West Bloomfield Michigan and Graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 1995.  He then studied Marketing & Finance at Western Michigan University, and began working in Web Application development at the age of 19.

Stephen is married to Tania and has 2 children Charlotte 2 and Chase 1.
